Present at the event were officials of Korean organizations including the "Old Men" Association for Korean Cultural Tradition in Uzbekistan, heads of Korean art troupes and other Koreans in Uzbekistan.

The participants laid floral baskets and bouquets before the full-length portrait of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il before paying tribute to them.

Ju Yong Il, chairman of the above-said Association, said Koreans are looking back on the undying exploits of the peerlessly great man for the country and the people on the Day of the Shining Star.

Today we are confident of the rosy future of the country and national reunification, witnessing the changes taking place in the country under the wise leadership of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, he said, adding:

We will make positive contributions to the drive for opening up a broad avenue to independent reunification by pooling efforts of all the Koreans in the north, south and overseas this year of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation true to the behests of the great generalissimo for national reunification.

A photo exhibition was held under the theme "Great leader of the Korean people Comrade Kim Jong Il".

The participants watched a Korean film documenting historical activities of Kim Jong Il giving field-guidance to different fields of national economy.

They also watched videos introducing Mirim Riding Club and Munsu Water Park.

On February 3 a meeting and photo exhibition celebrating the Day of the Shining Star took place at the building of the "Old Men" Association for Korean Cultural Tradition in Uzbekistan.
