U.S. Moves to Build Missile Shield under Fire in S. Korea

Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- 39 civic and social bodies of south Korea, including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty, Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, Solidarity for Progress and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, held a press conference in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Feb. 13 at which they condemned the U.S. moves to build a missile shield.

The organizations accused high-ranking officials of the U.S. Departments of State and Defense of repeatedly asserting the discussion on the deployment of THAAD in south Korea.

This is an undisguised revelation of the U.S. intention to deploy THAAD in south Korea at any cost by pressurizing its regime, they held.

They demanded the south Korean and U.S. authorities halt at once the moves to deploy THAAD in south Korea.
