Rodong Sinmun Calls for Opening Up Broad Avenue to Independent Reunification
Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- A resolution of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the joint slogans of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK which were made public on the occasion of the 70th anniversaries of the founding of the WPK and Korea's liberation serve as an invincible banner giving strong spurs to the triumphant advance of the movement for national reunification, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an article.

It goes on:

The resolution and joint slogans call on all Koreans in the north, the south and abroad to resolutely foil the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet group's moves for a war against the north, their anti-DPRK nuclear racket and "human rights" ruckus and open up a broad avenue to independent reunification, united close under the banner of patriotism and in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.

It is a prerequisite to opening up a broad avenue to independent reunification to foil their moves to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK.

Peace can neither settle on the Korean peninsula nor the inter-Korean relations get rid of the mire of catastrophe if the U.S. is allowed to seek to ignite a nuclear war utterly indifferent to the destiny of the Korean nation and the puppet group is allowed to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK, pursuant to the U.S. policy.

This is a lesson drawn by the Korean nation last year and a hard reality of the inter-Korean relations.

It is an important task for preserving the dignity and sovereignty of the nation and mending the inter-Korean relations to put an end to the U.S. imperialists and the puppet group's nuclear racket against the DPRK and "human rights" ruckus.

The article calls upon all the Koreans to get united close under the banner of patriotism and in the idea of By Our Nation Itself and open up a broad avenue to independent reunification.
