At the press conference speakers said that the south Korean and U.S. authorities are describing Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises as "annul ones for defense" but in actuality they are war drills aimed to occupy the north.

They noted that they would launch peace actions for a halt to the war drills and build up public opinion against war.

On Feb. 23 the Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty issued slogans for peace against war which call for opposing the joint military exercises of the U.S. imperialists and the puppet forces.

In the slogans the organization said that the situation on the Korean peninsula is again inching close to a touch-and-go situation with the approach of the resumption of Key Resolve and Foal Eagle.

There is no hope for the improved inter-Korean relations amid the joint military exercises, the organization said, calling for an immediate halt to them which will bring a nuclear war and national ruin.

It demanded the authorities stop at once cooperation for war with the U.S. as it bedevils the inter-Korean relations through interference in the internal affairs and north-targeted war drills.

It called upon all people to turn out in the actions to check the moves for war drills and realize peace against war and protect the people's life and security by their concerted efforts.
