Speeches were made by Ri Yong Sik, editor-in-chief of Rodong Sinmun; Kim Ki Ryong, first vice-chairman of the Korean Central Broadcasting Committee and director of the Television Broadcasting Service; Ji Yu Gon, director and editor-in-chief of the Science and Encyclopedia Publishing House; Rim Ho Ryong, vice general director of the KCNA; and Ri Yong Chol, director and editor-in-chief of the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House.

Speakers said that the work serves as a great programme for the media in the 21st century as it helps remarkably increase the militant might of the media of the WPK and as important guidelines for the journalists and media persons to perform their missions and duties as standard bearers and buglers for advance on the ideological front of the party in the on-going general charge.

They called on the media to perform their pioneers and educators' roles in thoroughly establishing the monolithic leadership system of the Party Central Committee throughout the party and society and powerfully arousing all service personnel and people to the campaigns to implement the party ideology and uphold the party policies.

They underlined the need to produce varieties of scientific and technological books and magazines and intensify the dissemination of sci-tech information and thus focus efforts on encouraging all people to build the country into a sci-tech power.

They underscored the need to have proud voices of faith, will and justice of Songun Korea heard all over the world by using preeminent strategy and iron logic.
