In hearty response to his call, all the Korean people have turned out in the general offensive, displaying the spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the blizzards of Paektu.

From olden times, people believed that the soul of the resourceful, brave and clean Korean nation originated from Mt. Paektu.

Leader Kim Jong Il in his lifetime said that the Korean revolution started in Mt. Paektu and, accordingly, the spirit of Korea is just the spirit of Paektu.

The spirit of Paektu, displayed by the revolutionary forerunners during the anti-Japanese armed struggle, is an unyielding offensive spirit of braving obstacles and difficulties and a staunch fighting spirit of rising up no matter how often one may fall and fighting it out.

With this spirit and the request of the forerunners for never abandoning the revolutionary faith though one may die, all the servicepersons and civilians could overcome all hardships and trials to usher in a new era of great prosperity, meeting challenges of history.

They are now dashing toward the final victory in the struggle to build a thriving nation, fully displaying the spirit of Paektu.
