The Zimbabwean paper Herald carried an article titled "Marshal Kim Jong Un is translating into reality the lifetime desire of HE Kim Jong Il" with a portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il and a photo of Kim Jong Un.

Reporting that the Day of the Shining Star is celebrated with splendor in the DPRK, the paper said:

The Korean people uphold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and eternal chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

They are implementing the behests of Kim Jong Il to the letter in all sectors and units under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

The DPRK is sure to achieve a final victory in the anti-U.S. confrontation and construction of a thriving nation as it is led by Kim Jong Un.

The paper introduced the contents of a resolution of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, titled "On Greeting the 70th Anniversaries of the Founding of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Liberation of the Country as Revolutionary, Auspicious Events of Songun Korea Which Is Prospering under the Leadership of the Great Party."

A Syrian paper featured an article titled "On the 73rd anniversary of Kim Jong Il, leader of the DPRK, life devoted to future".

The article praised him for devoting his all to the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people.

The Egyptian TV Broadcasting Service carried a portrait of Kim Jong Un and broadcasted the Korean people celebrating the Day of the Shining Star.
