The uprising, which dedicated one page to Korea's history of the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle, was a historic event that fully demonstrated the strong independent spirit, indomitable stamina and ardent patriotism of the Korean people who did not tolerate outside forces' domination and oppressive rule but protested against them, risking death, and shook down to the roots the colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists.

The appeal stressed the need to conduct the dynamic struggle to terminate outside forces' interference in internal affairs, preserve peace and withdraw foreign forces from this land by the united efforts of the entire nation.

It called upon all the Koreans to pool efforts and conduct the nation-wide movement for resolutely opposing and rejecting the joint military drills with outside forces, foiling the revival of Japanese militarism and forcing Japan to make apology and reparation for the Japanese imperialists' past shuddering crimes.

It called for achieving the great unity of the nation in the idea of By Our Nation Itself and successfully solving the issue of the country's reunification in the interests common to the nation.

It called upon all the Koreans to thoroughly preserve the July 4 joint statement, the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and conduct a dynamic nation-wide movement to put the declarations into practice.

It called on all the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad to bring about a great turn and change in the inter-Korean relations and open up a broad avenue to independent reunification with one will and purpose.
