Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- South Koreans in Japan staged a protest demanding a halt to the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities targeted against the DPRK on Feb. 23. They included the Alliance of South Koreans in Japan for Democracy and Unification, the South Korean Youth League in Japan, the South Korean Democratic Women's Society in Japan, the Consultative Council of South Korean Students in Japan. A written request addressed to the U.S. President was read out. The request said that the joint military exercises projected from coming March is barbarous and offensive large-scale drills simulating a nuclear war of aggression against the north, adding the tension on the Korean peninsula runs so high that touch-and-go situation is becoming a reality. It demanded a stop to the U.S.-south Korea joint war drills which will escalate confrontation and bring destruction. Then the organizations moved to the south Korean embassy in Tokyo where they demanded the resignation of the Park Geun Hye regime which resorts to corruption and irregularities and revives the "yusin" dictatorship. In a written protest they denounced the south Korean regime for its traitorous and anti-reunification act of serving the U.S. by denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and scuttling the north-south relations. On Feb. 21, they conducted information activities in Tokyo demanding the stop to the aggression war moves and the resignation of the regime. |
