Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- Ri In Mo, a pro-reunification patriotic fighter and former unconverted long-term prisoner, is regarded as an incarnation of faith and will in the DPRK. Ri was arrested by the enemy while fighting as a guerilla in Mt. Jiri during the 1950-1953 Korean war, before serving 34 year-long prison term. In praise of his indomitable spirit, the DPRK government erected his bust in Thongil Street of Pyongyang. In this regard, Jong Hak Chol, a worker of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, told KCNA: Ri In Mo, a former war correspondent of the Korean People's Army, glorified the honor of being a member of the Workers' Party of Korea, not lured to all sorts of temptations and not yielded to bestial tortures in his prison life. His revolutionary faith and will are the example to be followed by younger generation. Kim Myong Ju, a student of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, said that Ri In Mo's bust makes her harden her determination to firmly defend the ideology and system of the DPRK. Ri Kwang Chol, vice-chairman of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, said: Now the DPRK's young people are working hard to learn from the mental world of Ri In Mo, who lived a life with steadfast will and faith. Various forms of meetings, themed "Ri In Mo and I", are now taking place among youth league organizations in the city. Ri In Mo's works including songs "Thought of Love", "Ode to Faith and Will" and "Led by You, We Will Win" dedicated to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and his reminiscence "Faith and My Life" are getting popular among young people as the days go by. The reminiscence tells about the whole life of Ri In Mo, an awardee of the title of DPRK Hero twice and the National Reunification Prize. |
