Senior Officials in Charge of Administrative Affairs Visit Kim Jong Il's Birthplace

Samjiyon, March 2 (KCNA) -- Senior officials in charge of administrative affairs across the country started their study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu. They visited leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp on Monday. They laid bouquets before the mosaic portraying the three commanders of Mt. Paektu and paid tribute to them. They went round the secret camp in Mt. Paektu after being briefed on the monument inscribed with the poem "Shining Star" written by President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the birthday of Kim Jong Il. They went round the simple log cabin in which he grew up to be a great revolutionary, hearing snowstorm in the Paektu forest and gunfire during the great anti-Japanese war as a lullaby. They visited the log cabin which hosted the headquarters where they deeply grasped the immortal revolutionary exploits the President performed by leading the Korean revolution to shining victory. They also looked round the shallow well used by anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and trees bearing revolutionary slogans written by her. They toured the Chongbong bivouac, Konchang bivouac and Sajabong secret camp used by soldiers of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) during the days of advance into the homeland led by the President. At the Chongbong bivouac they laid bouquets before the statue of the President and paid tribute to him. They went round the log cabin used by the headquarters and printing house in the Sajabong secret camp, the site of the room for soldiers of the KPRA, the site of campfire and trees bearing slogans. They held a meeting for hearing the recital of long epic "Mt. Paektu" and a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus on the same day. |
