Park Chung-Hee, the "yusin" dictator, forcibly shut down Minjok Ilbo in 1961 and his daughter Park Geun Hye closed Jaju Minbo, an editorial said, and went on:

Under the present regime progressive political parties and organizations have become targets of forcible dissolution and suppression under the pretence of public security and progressive and democratic media are closed.

Minjok Ilbo will wage an undaunted struggle against the undemocratic action.
