Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The women in the DPRK have been given preferential treatment under the deep care of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government.

The DPRK law on protection of women's rights stipulates that the women have equal rights with men in all realms of socio-political life.

By this law, women are encouraged to take active part in socio-political activities.

Institutions and organizations and industrial establishments at all levels provide necessary conditions for the women to participate in various fields, including education, culture and public health.

Meanwhile, the Party and government have granted the women various kinds of special benefits, including the system of paid maternity leave.

Under the care of the Party and government, the DPRK women are now playing a key role in the work for the wellbeing of families and the development of society.
