At the talk the Syrian president said the historic relations between the two countries provided by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and HE Hafez Al-Assad are well known to the world.

The delegation's Syria visit encourages the Syrian people in a difficult time, he said, stressing that the two countries, though far away from each other geographically, are waging an indomitable struggle against the common enemies U.S. imperialists and their allies.

The shining victory won by the Korean people in the standoff with the U.S. greatly encourages the Syrian people in their struggle to defend sovereignty, stability and peace, the president said, adding:

The hostile acts of the U.S. imperialists make the relations between Syria and the DPRK stronger. The U.S. and the West can never overpower the might of the peoples of the two countries rallied close around their leaders.
