Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. of Shutting Door of DPRK-U.S. Dialogue
Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is the arch criminal which shut the door of DPRK-U.S. dialogue by deliberately straining the situation on the Korean peninsula, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an article.

It goes on:

This is clearly proved by the past history and present situation.

It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to oppose the stand-off of force and provide a peaceful climate on the Korean peninsula through dialogue and negotiations.

The DPRK advanced various proposals for dialogue on its own initiative for ensuring peace since the ceasefire in Korea.

Thanks to the DPRK's efforts, there took place not a few contacts and dialogues between the DPRK and the U.S. in the past period.

The DPRK exercised patience for the hard-won dialogue when the U.S. rattled its nerves.

But, the U.S. attitude and stand were completely different to the DPRK' attitude. Whenever the DPRK proposed dialogue, the U.S. put up preconditions, fanning up enmity through false propaganda.

While paying lip-service to DPRK-U.S. dialogue and peace on the peninsula in the international arena, the U.S. staged war rehearsals in denial of dialogue. They were escalated day by day.

This goes to prove that no dialogue can take place between the DPRK and the U.S. as long as the latter's saber-rattling persists.

This being a hard reality, the U.S. pulls up the DPRK while talking about dialogue. This is no more than a fig-leaf to cover up its sinister intention.

The final purpose sought by the U.S. is to stifle the DPRK by force by whiling away time under the signboard of dialogue.

With no rhetoric can the U.S. cover up its true colors as a wrecker of dialogue.
