Present there were officials of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and deputies to it.

Kim Hyon Il, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the union, in a report said that the union has made achievements in the work to expand and consolidate its mass foundation, the movement for national reunification and external activities.

He underlined the need to energetically conduct the work with Korean youth and students and make a leap forward in the Korean community this year marking the 70th anniversary of the formation of the union and thus actively contribute to ushering in a new heyday of Chongryon.

O Jae Se, director of the Organizational Bureau of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, underscored the need to instill the tradition of loyalty, patriotism and unity recorded in the 70 year-long history of the union into its members.
