Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- Alexandr Zhevin, chief of the Korean Affairs Study Center of the Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences, had an interview with a journalist of the Sputnik News in connection with the U.S. and south Korean puppet forces' joint military exercises, according to Voice of Russia on March 5. He referred to the fact that a drill of services of the Korean People's Army for hitting enemy naval target was staged at the personal initiative of KPA Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un. He said: The DPRK is now on a high alert against the possible provocation by the naval force of the U.S. which it puts to use whenever it schemes to bring down governments of other countries. This is the demonstration of the DPRK's firm will to resolutely cope with any attempt to invade its territory. The south Korean media is now reporting that the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises are not "defensive". In other words, it is asserting that they are very offensive. What is worse is that it is not concealing that the exercises are aimed at striking the DPRK. So I think that the DPRK has the legal right to bolster up the defence capabilities of the country. He also referred to the fact that the U.S. and south Korea remain just as same as in the Cold War when they threatened the DPRK with Team Spirit joint military exercises. He said that the U.S. is stifling the DPRK in all domains including politics and military affairs and even imposing sanctions against it. He stressed that the U.S. and south Korea are trying to bring down the headquarters of the DPRK while making a fuss about its "human rights" in the international arena but that is nothing but a daydream of the politicians of the U.S. and south Korea and these acts are pushing the DPRK-U.S. relations and the north-south relations to deadlocks. |
