|
Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- People of the DPRK have turned out in the forest restoration campaign. In this regard, KCNA met Kim Song Jun, vice director-general of the General Bureau of Forest under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection. He said: Supreme leader Kim Jong Un made public the work "Let the Entire Party, the Whole Army and All the People Conduct a Vigorous Forest Restoration Campaign to Cover the Mountains of the Country with Green Woods" on the threshold of the Tree Planting Day (March 2). In hearty response to the call he made in the work, all the people have turned out in the campaign. Flood and drought damages which have hit the country in recent years are attributable to naked mountains. Therefore, the forest restoration brooks no further delay in the country. Preferential efforts are being paid to cultivating saplings in every province, city and county and many nurseries have put the cultivation of saplings on an industrial basis. Trees are planted with much care not only on mountains and roadsides but also in the vicinity of villages and railroads. |
