Papers Lay Bare U.S. Purpose of Escalating Tension on Korean Peninsula

Pyongyang, March 17 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is deliberately pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula to the worst phase. It is aimed to secure a pretext for carrying out its aggressive and predatory foreign policy. Papers on Tuesday say this in commentaries. It is a calculation of the U.S. that it can dominate the world only when it exercises its unchallenged influence on Asia-Pacific, on Northeast Asia, in particular, Rodong Sinmun notes, and goes on: Therefore, the U.S. is directing the pivot of its foreign policy to this region and advanced the pivot to Asia-Pacific strategy. But there are big powers capable of challenging the U.S. in the region. Therefore, it is impossible to dominate the Asia-Pacific region unless the U.S. contains those countries. The U.S. seeks to achieve this aim by a military method. This has touched off due caution and resistance of big powers in the region. The U.S. requires a pretext for calming down the vigilance of big powers in the region and justifying its actions. Precisely for this reason the U.S. is deliberately escalating the tension on the Korean peninsula. It is a daydream for the U.S. to calculate that it can dominate the Asia-Pacific region by making the DPRK a scapegoat. Minju Joson says that the DPRK can never remain an onlooker to the moves of the U.S. to make the Korean peninsula a victim of its Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy. |
