Strict Investigation into Election Rigging Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- Members of the Emergency Situation Council to Denounce Intelligence Service's Interference in Presidential Election for Political Operation and other civic organizations in south Korea held a rally in Seoul on Mar. 15 to denounce the IS's election rigging and demand a strict investigation and punishment on those involved.

Speakers said at the rally that it is 55 years since the March 15 fraudulent election which provided an occasion of forcing the Syngman Rhee regime to step down, they noted, and continued:

The fact that the last "presidential" election was a fraudulent one as was the case with the March 15 election was proved by the verdict of guilty given to Won Se Hun, former director of the Intelligence Service, they noted.

Given that the election rigging by the IS has been proved, the illegal interference in the election should be thoroughly investigated and arch criminal Lee Myung Bak and others involved be punished, they said.

They urged Park Geun Hye to own the responsibility for it and step down.
