Present at the talks from the DPRK side were members of the delegation and the DPRK ambassador to Cuba and from the Cuban side officials concerned of the Foreign Ministry.

At the talks both sides exchanged views on the issue of developing the friendship between the two countries and other issues of mutual concern.

The Cuban foreign minister said the Cuban people would remain eternal comrades-in-arms of the Korean people in the common struggle against imperialism and U.S. and for socialism.

The Cuban government supported the DPRK government's stand for denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, the minister said, expressing hope that Korea would be reunified independently and peacefully free from foreign interference.

He noted the Cuban government and people hoped that the Korean people would register successes in their drive for celebrating the 70th anniversaries of Korea's liberation and founding of the Workers' Party of Korea as great revolutionary auspicious events.

On the same day Ri Su Yong had talks with Jose Ramon Balaguer, international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
