Referring to the brisk preparations for the festival, Kim Yong Il, a department director of the Korean Association of Cooks, told KCNA:

The upcoming festival is to be held, divided into two groups.

Group A will involve Okryu and Chongryu restaurants, Pyongyang Koryo Hotel and other units which had proven successful in the past cooking contests and Group B at least 40 public catering establishments from the capital city of Pyongyang and provinces.

The association has already made public the guidelines for the festival.

Medals and diplomas will be awarded to the successful participants in the festival.
