Deployment of THAAD Opposed in S. Korea

Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The South Kyongsang Provincial Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the Joint Council of Civic and Public Organizations and the Progressive Federation of South Kyongsang Province held a press conference outside the building of the provincial office on Mar. 17 in protest against the planned U.S. deployment of THAAD in south Korea.

The organizations in a press release censured the regime and the "Saenuri Party" for zealously moving for THAAD deployment in south Korea and that the U.S. forces command in south Korea for going the lengths of officially confirming it had already surveyed the site for the THAAD deployment on Mar. 12.

The regime and the "Saenuri Party" bluster that the deployment is to cope with the "missile threat from the north" but it is, in actuality, pursuant to the U.S. Asia policy, the press release held, adding:

Once THAAD is deployed in south Korea, the Korean peninsula will not be free from constant nuclear confrontation.

The regime and the "Saenuri Party" should refrain from gambling over the destiny of the nation.
