Osvaldo Larriva Alvarado, chairman of the Ecuadorian Committee for Remembering Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to hold colorful political and cultural events praising the sacred revolutionary career and undying feats of Kim Il Sung in the capital city and local areas on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
