Citing facts to expose that the U.S. has long made it a fait accompli to deploy THAAD in south Korea and made steady preparations, Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a commentary says:

The U.S., facing a strong opposition of surrounding countries as regards the deployment of THAAD in south Korea, is running the whole gamut of gimmicks to conceal its real intention and attain its sinister goal.

The U.S. moves for the deployment of THAAD is a product of its military strategy to turn south Korea into an advanced base for invading Asia, hold strategic hegemony in Northeast Asia and contain big regional powers by counting on its unchallenged edge.

By deploying THAAD in south Korea, the U.S. seeks to lay a siege to Russia and China and thus hold a position for maximizing the effect of striking at the other parties while minimizing damage to it.

But the U.S. is mistaken. No country will be taken in by its poor trick. It is clear that the deployment of THAAD in south Korea will be a seed causing a new Cold War in Asia-Pacific.
