Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The Sci-Tech Complex and Mirae Scientists Street are now being built at a fast tempo on the scenic bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK. Their construction gives a glimpse of the DPRK's policy of attaching importance to science and technology. Supreme leader Kim Jong Un has made a new history of giving priority to the nation's development of science and technology, with the noble idea that there will be no rosy future without science. In January last year he visited the State Academy of Sciences, calling on the scientists and technicians to make tangible contributions to the prosperity of the country. And he took measures to build a modern scientist street in the Unjong science area and a scientist holiday camp near scenic Lake Yonphung. Under his loving care, a lot of edifices for the scientists and technicians have taken their shapes in the country in recent years, such as Unha Scientists Street, apartment houses for educators of Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology and modern science institutes. Encouraged by the supreme leader's idea of giving priority to science, all the scientists and technicians in the DPRK have turned out in a dynamic drive to break through the cutting edge and turn the country into a knowledge-based economic power. |
