The meeting reviewed the work of the committee for 2014 and discussed the orientation of its work for 2015.

Kim Yong Hun, minister of Physical Culture and Sports who doubles as chairman of the DPRK Olympic Committee, made a report to be followed by speeches.

They recalled that Marshal Kim Jong Un made sure that the Seventh National Conference of Sportspeople was held and sent a historic letter "Let Us Usher In a New Heyday of Building a Sports Power in the Revolutionary Spirit of Paektu" to those attending the conference and had a photo session with them.

Sportspersons won victories by playing by the methods of Korean style in the 17th Asian Games and world championships last year, exalting the honor of the country and greatly encouraging the service personnel and people out in the drive for defending socialism, they noted.

With the National Inter-Provincial Games-14 and domestic sports games as momentums, the hot wind of sports swept all over the country and many achievements were made in sports scientific researches, they said.

They underlined the need to direct efforts to mass sports and development of technique of each sports event.

They called for boosting cooperation with international sports bodies and registering greater achievements in sports.
