The title of academician went to Kim Jae So, researcher at Kim Il Sung University, and the title of candidate academician to Sim Kwang Chol, deputy rector of Phyongsong University of Coal Industry, Song Han Jong, teacher at Wonsan University of Fisheries, and Jo Tae Il, researcher at the Academy of Social Sciences.

Professorship was awarded to four intellectuals, doctorate to more than 80 and associate professorship to 147.

They made great contributions to building an economic power and improving the people's living standard by putting different fields of national economy on a modern and IT basis of Korean-style and waging a drive to push back the frontiers of latest science and technology.

The awarding ceremony took place at the People's Palace of Culture Thursday.
