Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The first secretary of the Partizansk City Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the chairman of the Slav Association and other Russian personages sent a letter to the U.S. president on March 27 in protest against the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises targeting the DPRK. The letter said: Members of political parties and organizations in Partizansk City, maritime territory of Russia and its citizens demand a stop to military drills sparking off conflict and provocation on the Korean peninsula. There has not been a peaceful day on the peninsula for seven decades since 1945. The U.S. triggered off military conflict in the western border of Russia and now seeks to cause one in the eastern border. Why does the U.S. always want blood and war? What does the U.S. want? Why does the U.S. compel the DPRK to channel bigger efforts into defence field? If the DPRK had failed to get it fully ready to cope with the U.S. aggression, it would have faced the same fate as Iraq and Libya. We urge the U.S. to accept the proposal of the DPRK that in case the former suspends joint military drills in south Korea and its vicinity, the latter has the willingness to take such measure as putting a moratorium on nuclear tests. |
