Present there on invitation were Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong and officials of the Foreign Ministry.

The ambassador said in his speech that the Korean people are significantly celebrating the Day of the Sun, their greatest national holiday.

He said that he was rejoiced over the great successes made by the Korean people in their efforts to achieve the prosperity of the country and improve their living standard under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

He extended sincere thanks to respected Kim Jong Un for paying deep attention to the development of the Mongolia-DPRK relations.

Ri Su Yong recalled that Kim Il Sung founded the Juche idea and leader Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into a powerful socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence and into an invincible political and military power.

Thanks to the solid foundation of friendship Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il provided together with the preceding leaders of Mongolia, the bilateral relations have invariably grown stronger, he said.

He said the DPRK would make positive efforts to develop the bilateral relations of cooperation onto a new higher stage.
