The police authorities perpetrated such violence as searching the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee under the absurd pretext of the violation of the "foreign currency exchange law."

Chongryon has neither part nor lot in the violation of the "law."

The search operation is politically-motivated suppression targeting Chongryon as it lacks any legal validity.

It is clear that the government manipulated it behind the scene.

We strongly protest the suppression of Chongryon and will stage a dynamic struggle against the government's moves to reverse the trend for normalizing Japan-DPRK diplomatic relations.
