Homage Paid to Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, Hwang Pyong So and other senior officials of the party, state and army, members of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and the National Defence Commission and commanding officers of the Korean People's Army in Pyongyang visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun Thursday on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.

Placed before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il was a floral basket in the name of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Laid before the statues was a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the DPRK National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.

The participants paid tribute to the statues in profound reverence for Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who led the cause of independence against imperialism and cause of socialism to victory under the uplifted banner of Songun and glorified the DPRK as an invincible political, ideological and military power.

In the hall of immortality where Kim Jong Il lies in state, they made bows to him.

They went round the hall where orders he received are on display and the halls which house a car, electric car, boat and train coach used by him during his field guidance and foreign tours till the last moments of his life.
