Koreans in Japan Protest Japanese Authorities' Fascist Suppression of Chongryon

| Tokyo, April 9 (KNS-KCNA) -- Officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Koreans in Japan staged a protest in front of the building of the Japanese Police Agency in Tokyo on Thursday to denounce the police authorities' unprecedented fascist suppression of Chongryon. Present there were Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, leading officials of organizations and enterprises of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan. The vice-chairman read out a letter of protest. It is an unpardonable fascist violence that the police authorities raided the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon with the mobilization of huge police after creating a terror-ridden atmosphere on March. 26, the letter of protest noted. It demanded an immediate apology and stop to the vicious politically-motivated suppression, adding that this politically-motivated suppression of Chongryon would hurt the DPRK-Japan relations. The protesters chanted slogans protesting the police suppression and urging the Japanese authorities to apologize at once, holding placards denouncing the brigandish raid. |
