Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju and other leading officials of the party, state and army, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the party, armed forces and power bodies, Cabinet, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, officers and men of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials of institutions and industrial establishments in the city, bereaved families of revolutionary martyrs, labor innovators, overseas Koreans' delegations, overseas Koreans and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, made a report at the meeting.

The reporter said that Kim Il Sung's birth was a great fortune for the Korean people as they acclaimed the sun of Juche for the first time in the history spanning five thousand years and a worldwide event which brought progressive mankind the dawn in the era of independence.

He was the founding-father of socialist Korea and the eternal sun of Juche as he brought about a fundamental turn in hewing out the destiny of the country, the nation and mankind and opened up their brilliant future, standing in the centre of the revolutionary movement in the stirring 20th century, the reporter said, and went on:

He performed undying feats in the history of the revolutionary struggle of the Korean people and the world history of politics, hewing the untrodden path for the country and its people for seven decades since he embarked upon the road of revolution in his teens.

His revolutionary career was a sacred one of the peerlessly great man who provided assets guaranteeing the eternal future of the Korean revolution from scratch without any foundation and preceding experience.

He did everything he could for the future of the revolution and comprehensively provided the scientific guiding idea, invincible traditions, the most advantageous social system and strong national power, leaving them as legacies for eternity.

He clarified the revolutionary principles that the revolution should be made independently and creatively by believing in the strength of the people and relying on it and the independence and sovereignty of the nation and the victory of the revolutionary cause are guaranteed by arms, and founded the immortal Juche idea and the Songun idea.

After taking over two pistols as revolutionary legacies and embarking on the road of the Songun revolution, he led the bloody anti-Japanese war to victory, liberated the country and won a shining victory in the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War against the U.S. imperialists' invasion, exalting the honor of the nation.

Basing himself on the precious experience and traditions established during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, he built the revolutionary party, state power and regular revolutionary armed forces of Juche type in a short span of time after the liberation of the country and steadily strengthened the Workers' Party of Korea, state and army with his experienced and tested leadership.

He wisely led the two-stage rehabilitation and construction, two-stage social revolution and socialist construction, turning the DPRK into the socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence. He successfully applied the general line of socialist construction and thus gave full play to the advantages and might of socialism in all fields of politics, economy, military affairs and culture.

He was the lodestar of national reunification as he devoted his all to the great national unity and the reunification of the country and the world elder statesman who dynamically led the human cause of independence.

His idea and feats were steadfastly carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il and they are shedding their rays in the new century under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The reporter called upon all party members, service personnel and people to hold Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the sun of Juche for all ages with the national pride and honor of living and struggling as his descendants.
