Present there were Shingo Kanemaru, secretary for political affairs of Shin Kanemaru, former vice-president of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, Fumihiro Himori, chairman of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, Kenichi Ogami, secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, and personages of organizations for friendship with the Korean people.

Present there on invitation were So Chung On, department director of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other officials of Chongryon.

At the meeting speakers recalled that Kim Il Sung worked heart and soul to improve the DPRK-Japan relations.

They referred to the fact that sincere negotiations were held in Stockholm of Sweden in May last year to liquidate the unhappy past, settle the pending issues and realize the normalization of relations between the two countries.

Expressing irrepressible resentment at the Japanese police authorities' fascist search of the houses of the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, they denounced the search as an unpardonable action to scrap the Japan-DPRK inter-governmental agreement.

Whether the relations between the two countries advances or not entirely depends on the attitude of the Japanese authorities, they noted.

They called for more dynamically conducting the movement for achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and improving the DPRK-Japan relations.
