Japan's Suppression of Chongryon Condemned by Organizations of Uzbekistan, DR Congo

| Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Organizations for friendship with the DPRK in Uzbekistan and DR Congo released statements on April 3 and 4 in denunciation of the Japanese authorities' suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon). Extending full support to Chongryon, a dignified overseas Koreans' organization of the DPRK, the Uzbekistan-DPRK Friendship Forum said: What the Japanese police authorities perpetrated on Mar. 26 was a barbarous and immoral action against Chongryon and its members. The provocation made by the Japanese authorities at a time when the situation remains very tense on the Korean peninsula is lashing broad public circles into fury. Chongryon is protecting the democratic national rights of the Koreans in Japan. We vehemently condemn the Japanese authorities' action against Chongryon. The DR Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association demanded the Japanese authorities roll back their anachronistic hostile policy towards the DPRK immediately, apologize to Chongryon for the recent fascist action and severely punish those responsible for it. |
