DPRK Weightlifters Renew National Records

| Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- Weightlifters of the DPRK renewed national records in several categories at the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest under way in the country. In particular, three weightlifters from the April 25 Sports Team set new records in five categories. They include Kim Kwang Song, who proved successful in the 2013 Asian Weightlifting Championships, the 17th Asian Games, the 2014 World Weightlifting Championships and other international games. He set new national records thrice by lifting one more kilogram in the snatch and three more kilograms in jerk with four more kilograms in total. Meanwhile, Ri Jun of the Pyongyang Sports Team broke the existing record in men's 94kg jerk with lift of one more kilogram. |
