The Hokkaido People's Council for Japan-Korea Solidarity said that the Japanese police authorities' violence against the chairman and a vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee is censured worldwide as it reminds one of the suppression of Koreans in the 20th century.

It called upon the forces aspiring after peace and democracy to get united as one in the struggle so that such violence may not be repeated.

The Hyogo Prefectural People's Council for Japan-DPRK Friendship said that the Abe regime is seeking a war, far from making an apology and reparation for the past colonial rule, and to this end, it is talking much about the "threat from the DPRK" and resorting to the suppression of Chongryon.

In order to achieve the peace and stability in Northeast Asia, it is essential to establish the diplomatic relations between Japan and the DPRK and form friendly relations at an early date, the statement said, adding: Unpardonable is the attitude of the present regime going against this.

The Yamaguchi Council for Japan-DPRK Friendship and Solidarity said the Japanese government is to blame for this situation as it is evading an apology and reparation for the past crimes till today, nearly 70 years since the war, adding this brings disgrace on the Japanese people.
