Districts in the capital city of Pyongyang are making big efforts to settle lighting in parks and streets with use of natural energy.

Hamhung, Kaesong and other cities in the country have set up solar panels for lighting in streets.

Ryongchon County of North Phyongan Province is making effective use of solar and wind energies.

According to Kim Ho Chol, chief engineer of the Ryongnam Dockyard, the dockyard set up six wind-powered generators and 100 solar panels, all of which generate several hundred kwh in a day.

A similar drive was also launched in the Tudan Duck Farm, the stockbreeding base in the Sepho area and other rural units.
