It was opened on April 14. Players proved successful in the matches by giving full play to the Korean-style tactics, diverse technique and high physical ability.

In the Division I, the South Hamgyong Provincial Taekwon-Do team placed first.

In the Division II, the Pyongyang Taekwon-Do College came first.

In the Paduk games, the Pyongyang City Taekwon-Do Team came first.

Wang Myong Guk (man) of the Central Physical Training College and Kim Il Hwa (woman) of the Taekwon-Do State Team were awarded individual technical prizes at the Taekwon-do games.

Present at the closing ceremony were Vice-Premier Kim Yong Jin, Ri Il Hwan, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, players, coaches and working people, youth and students in the city.

Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, made a closing address.
