Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, provided field guidance to Wonsan Baby Home and Orphanage close to completion. Enjoying a bird's-eye view of the baby home and orphanage, he expressed great satisfaction, saying those buildings look nice when watching only those exteriors and that just frames stood on dusty land when he inspected them two months ago but the project is close to completion and this area has undergone a dramatic change. New nice buildings have sprung up on the socialist paradise where fairylands are appearing one after another, making it possible to realize another long-cherished desire of the great leaders who were always considerate towards orphans, he said. Looking round various places of those buildings, he learned in detail about their construction. He praised the builders for constructing all rooms of those buildings in the best quality including nursing and educational rooms, a children's library, room for observing nature, room for playing with intelligence toys, amusement room, playing hall, wading pool, bath, barber's and clinic. He said that all facilities were arranged in a reasonable way so that they might be available for bringing up and educating those children and promoting their growth and developing their intellectual faculties, and that all of them were well built in such a way as to suit their feelings and help them cultivate their creativity and independence. He noted with pleasure that the baby home and orphanage have been built at the world's level as the builders used not only tiles for exterior and interior walls and sanitary ware but also outdoor rubber plates, all made at home. This is a proof that a lot of successes have been made in the efforts to implement the party's policy on locally producing building materials, he added. The longer I watch the baby home and orphanage, the more fashionable they look both in interior and exterior, he said, noting the construction of these splendid edifices prove that designing and building are making a leap forward in the country with each passing day. He underscored the need to make good preparations for operating the baby home and orphanage including the work to build up well the ranks of nurses and kindergarteners and sufficiently provide school things, utensils, materials for their operation, etc. as their construction is near completion. Enjoying a bird's-eye view of the baby home and orphanage again and again, he said with joy that they stand impeccable when they are viewed from their front and back. He noted he was pleased to see a nice palace for children to be proud of in the world, crystal of the party's love for the rising generation and future. He added that he felt as if he had seen orphans cheerfully playing free from worries and as if he had plucked a star. Saying that the soldier-builders made a lot of efforts, working hard day and night to bring joy to the people, he asked officials to convey his greetings to them. He extended the thanks of the KPA Supreme Commander to them. He called upon the soldier-builders to perfectly finish the remaining project so that they may take responsibility for the safety of the project and guarantee its absolute quality for all eternity and thus hold a ceremony for the completion of Wonsan Baby Home and Orphanage with splendor on June 1, the international children's day. He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA. |
