The work, published on April 21, Juche 74 (1985), clarifies the essence of healthcare, the role of the healthcare for people in the revolution and construction and the tasks and ways for thoroughly carrying out the party's policy of preventive medicine, improving and strengthening medical service and developing medical science and technology.

Kim Hyong Hun, chairman of the Central Committee of the Medical Association of Korea, said in a speech that the work is an immortal encyclopedia as it gives perfect answers to all theoretical and practical issues arising in developing the nation's public health onto a higher stage and finally settling the health issue of the working people.

He referred to the great achievements made in healthcare for the people thanks to the leadership of Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un and devoted efforts of the health workers over the past three decades.

He called upon all the health workers to remain loyal to the leadership of Kim Jong Un, defend the socialist public health system of Juche and bring about a great turn in the healthcare this year marking the 70th anniversaries of Korea's liberation and the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The participants heard papers dealing with important issues in putting the healthcare onto a high scientific and technological basis and improving the work for preventing diseases.
