Present there on invitation were DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong, Minster of Public Health Kang Ha Guk and officials concerned.

The Syrian ambassador said in his speech the President was born in Mangyongdae as the sun of the Korean nation, embarked upon the road of anti-Japanese armed struggle, defeated the Japanese imperialists and achieved the independence of the country.

The tradition of struggle bequeathed by him is being successfully carried forward by Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader of the Korean people, he said, adding:

The DPRK and Syria are standing on the same front to protect the dignity and interests of their peoples from imperialists.

Ri Su Yong referred to the exploits the President performed by making undying contributions to the development of friendly and cooperative relations with various countries aspiring after independence and to the accomplishment of the global cause of independence.

The idea and cause of the President are being given steady continuity under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, he noted, adding:

The Korean people will as ever extend invariable support and solidarity to the government and people of Syria in their just struggle to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country from all hostile forces' aggression and build prosperous Syria.
