Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- An action demanding the probe into the truth about the ferry Sewol disaster was staged in Canada on April 18 on the lapse of one year since the disaster. It was sponsored by the People in Toronto Remembering Ferry Sewol, an organization of Koreans in Canada. The organization has been on a hunger strike for more than 240 days since it proposed a relay hunger strike of overseas Koreans in solidarity with the hunger strike of the bereaved families of the disaster. That day Koreans in Canada honored the memory of the victims. Several Koreans had their hair cut short in solidarity with bereaved families who had their hair cut short. They said that they were all greatly enraged to hear the news of the south Korean authorities' suppression of bereaved families and other people in Kwanghwamun and Youido, Seoul. They staged a demonstration. On April 16 and 17 religionists and other Koreans staged actions in demand of the probe into the truth about the disaster. |
