Floral Tribute Paid to Martyrs

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on Saturday, the 83rd founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA). Seen on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Pak Pong Ju and other leading officials of the party and state, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel and other people in Pyongyang. The visitors laid bouquets and flowers before the bust of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and paid silent tribute to the memory of the woman commander of Mt. Paektu. Placed before the wreath-laying stand of the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong were wreaths in the names of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK. Also placed on the wreath-laying stand of the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery was a wreath in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK and the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK. Laid before the wreath-laying stand "Soul of Heroes" of the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery was a wreath in the joint name of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the DPRK National Defence Commission. Placed before the cemeteries were wreaths in the names of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, KPA units, scientific, educational, public health, media institutions and party and power bodies, city-level organs and farms in Pyongyang. The visitors paid silent tribute to the memory of the martyrs. Wreaths were laid before the sculptures of martyrs, cemeteries and towers to the memory of KPA martyrs and at martyrs' cemeteries in different parts of the country on the same day. |
