On display there were works of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and fine art pieces showing creative skills of the Korean people.

Present at its opening ceremony were the chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union and personages of various circles in the city including its mayor. The DPRK ambassador and his embassy officials were present there on invitation.

Kameliya Koiceva, vice-mayor of the city, in a speech at the ceremony recollected that citizens warmly welcomed Kim Il Sung visiting the city, adding:

The younger generation should know well about the history of friendship between Bulgaria and the DPRK.

Many things have changed but the friendship between the peoples of the two countries can never change.

I hope the exhibition will positively contribute to promoting the friendship between the two countries and boosting cultural cooperation and exchange.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the ceremony.
