Rodong Sinmun Slams Japan's Pro-U.S. Diplomatic Policy towards DPRK

Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA)-- If Japan truly wants the security of the country, it should stop toeing the U.S. line but think and act with its own senses, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an article. It goes on: Japan has always shaped its diplomatic policy towards the DPRK and behaved without any principle, reading the minds of the U.S. The article cites facts to prove that since the DPRK-Japan inter-governmental talks held in Stockholm in May last year, Japan has pursued pro-U.S. diplomatic policy towards the DPRK. Japan put main emphasis on the issue of abduction, sidestepping the main issue of improving the DPRK-Japan relations, and laid an obstacle in the way of implementing the DPRK-Japan inter-governmental agreement, paying heed to what the U.S. uttered. Japan has deliberately infringed upon the sovereignty of the DPRK with its sinister political aim. It cracked down upon the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan as a challenge to the DPRK, not content with playing the role of a shock brigade in kicking up the anti-DPRK human right racket, pursuant to the U.S. policy. This touched off bitter hatred of the Korean people for Japan. It is ridiculous for Japan to handle the issue of the DPRK-Japan relations with the calculation that the increasing pressure put by it upon the DPRK with the U.S. backing would work on the DPRK. The Japanese reactionaries pretend ignorance of what is happening, dodging the liquidation of their past crimes. It is only Japan which persistently refuses to reflect on its crime-woven history. Japan is sadly mistaken if it thinks the DPRK expects something from the improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations. If Japan goes reckless while dancing to the tune of the U.S. hostile to the DPRK, it can never have its security guaranteed and its behavior will only entail catastrophic consequences. |
