Minju Joson Accuses U.S. of Taking Issue with DPRK's Nuclear Deterrence

Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and its allies vied with each other to cry out for taking "counteractions against missiles of north Korea", echoing the assertions of William Gortney, commander of the U.S. Northern Forces, that north Korea has already produced smaller nukes and reached the level of tipping indigenous ICBMs with those nukes. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Wednesday says that the DPRK can never remain a passive onlooker to the propaganda of the U.S. and its allies twisting the nature of the DPRK's nuclear deterrence for self-defence and creating impression that it poses a serious "threat" to the world peace. It was entirely due to the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK that the nuclear issue was spawned on the Korean peninsula and the DPRK had access to nuclear weapons, the commentary notes, and goes on: It is the calculation of the U.S. to deploy THAAD in south Korea and revise the U.S.-Japan Defence Cooperation Guidelines as intended by it by hyping the "imminent nuclear threat from north Korea" and the "grave nature" of the situation and put its stooges at odds under its control at the earliest date and use the above-said threat as a stimulus for establishing a system for international cooperation in the campaign against the DPRK. Lurking behind this propaganda of the U.S. is a foolish bid to deter the fiction about "nuclear and missile threat from the DPRK" from waning to impair the international prestige of the DPRK and dampen the friendly attitude of the international community towards it. The international community should call into question and build up public opinion on the U.S. nuclear stick for aggression brandished as a tool for high-handed and arbitrary practices against other countries, not on the DPRK's nukes for self-defence. The DPRK will never allow anyone to encroach upon its nuclear sovereignty and fundamental interests. |
