Retinal Surgery Proves Successful in DPRK

Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Ophthalmic Hospital in the DPRK has made a signal success in treatment of retinal disease by applying a new surgery. In this regard, Kim Man Sok, section chief of the hospital, told KCNA: Though the hospital was opened 10 years ago, it was well known throughout the country for treatment of eye diseases. We have applied a new surgery to treating retinal diseases, curing more than 300 people of different symptoms. Pang Hye Suk living in Musan County, North Hamgyong Province said: My sight was restored after receiving treatment at the hospital. I was deeply impressed by the sincerity shown to me by its doctors. Kim Chung Hyok living in Samma-dong No.1 in Tongdaewon District, Pyongyang said: I underwent a surgery at the hospital, thanks to the free medical care system of my country. To pay for this, I will devote myself to adding glory to my country. Ryu Un Hui, president of the hospital, said: The hospital has made a big stride in medical service by applying a wave of latest medical successes to clinical practices. |
