The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said this in a joint statement on April 23.

The statement went on:

The great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) on April 25, 1932.

Under his guidance the KPRA defeated the Japanese imperialists and liberated Korea on August 15, 1945.

It developed into the KPA, the regular revolutionary armed forces, on February 8, 1948.

Under the leadership of Kim Il Sung, invincible and iron-willed commander, the heroic KPA inflicted defeat on the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in the Fatherland Liberation War to achieve historic victory.

The DPRK defeated the U.S. which boasted of being the "strongest" in the world, the first of its kind in history.

In the postwar period the KPA frustrated every move of the U.S. imperialists to provoke a new war.

The KPA is reliably defending the sovereignty and independence of the country and nation and firmly guaranteeing peace on the Korean peninsula.
